Speaker, Author, and Adventurer
A native of Michigan, Loreen has never been one to stay still. From a childhood spent playing on the shores of Lake Michigan, to a professional life covering a wide range of scientific pursuits, her journeys through academia, motherhood, and outdoor adventuring give her an expertise that’s as much brain as it is heart. She currently travels the country sharing stories from her adventures exploring our magnificent Great Lakes.
After completing her Masters of Science at Wayne State University, Loreen’s passion for writing led to an MFA from Spalding University. Her collection of short stories, Scar Tissue, was a finalist for the 2009 Flannery O’Conner Award. The trilogy of books about her Great Lakes Adventures are available at your favorite indie bookstore.
